Over 1,500 Job Fairs were held in Dallas County during Q2 2016. Hiring events included an April Healthcare Career Fair at the Irving Convention Center, attracting 86 employers and 431 job seekers. The May 4 TANF Job Fair drew 35 employers and 80 job seekers. During Instructure Week, May 16-20, hiring events were held in workforce centers countywide.
Upcoming hiring events include District 23’s “D23 Goes 2 Work” Hiring Fair, September 29, 2016. (For more information visit: www.D23goes2work.org.) In October, job fairs will be held in conjunction with National Disability Employment Awareness Month and National Manufacturing Month.
The Hiring Red, White and You Veterans Job Fair takes place November 10, 2016 at Gilley’s Dallas. The 2015 event, held at Globe Life Park, attracted 266 employers, 451 veterans and 1,002 job seekers, with 104 on-site hires reported.
